ANDY MARTIN ('Land of the quokka and kookaburra', Review, 7 March) paints a charming picture of Western Australia, but did he really go to Augusta? He doesn't once mention flies. I have visited Augusta each year for 18 years. Cripes, even the locals admit that Augusta is the most fly- infested spot on earth] Why did I go there? It was somewhere to go. Living in Perth is a bit like living in Lowestoftwith the next city as distant as Carlisle.
