I REALLY must protest at David Nicholson-Lord's condemnation of the discount store, Kwik Save ('Rambutan for the rich, beans for the broke', 23 May). He obviously doesn't shop there, but if he did, he would discover that with 2lbs of frozen peas or sprouts at 49p, bread at 29p a loaf and orange juice at 41p a litre, it is perfectly possible to feed two teenage boys and an adult a healthy diet on about pounds 35 a week. Olive oil, oatbran, fresh fruit and meat are available while the humble baked bean is a mere 16p a tin.
