Sir: I wholeheartedly endorse Colin J. Tully's sentiments (letter, 9 September) but he should not despair. Having deprived us of the poise and elegance of David Gower, maybe, just maybe, the baseball-cap and tracksuit brigade may, as some consolation, require the other two 'Gs' to shave for Test matches. Well, at least for the first day.
