Sir: It must have occurred to many that this is not the first time that a US president has run into trouble before he has had time to put his mark on elements of the permanent administration.
Thirty-two years on, the Bay of Pigs and the CIA are well remembered. It is to be hoped that Waco and the FBI enjoy a shorter run.
