Sir: As a former 'guest' of Iraq, and part of Saddam Hussein's 'Human Shield', I do appreciate Mr Khaled Al-Duwaisan's feelings as expressed in his letter today (2 August).
However, I am sure that many of us, whose lives were irrevocably damaged by the events of four years ago, would be interested to know if we have grounds for hope in expecting the payment of compensation claimed through the UN. Would it be unreasonable to expect a major contribution from the two wealthy beneficiaries of Allied intervention?
Yours faithfully,
IAN MILLS
