LETTER : Dunblane massacre: no one should be allowed to keep guns at ho me

Sir: In view of the inevitable calls for tighter gun control legislation and the possible psychiatric and psychological testing of applicants for firearms certificates it seems to me that we may well miss the point. There simply is no need or excuse for anyone outside the farming community to own a gun and anyone wishing to do so should immediately arouse suspicion and warrant investigation. Isn't it about time that we as a society recognised many of these so called "gun lovers" for the sick and pathetic individuals they really are?
