As A regular reader I was surprised and disappointed with your "Why are they famous" column on Peter Phillips (Real Life, 23 November). I am neither a royalist nor a rugby fan but your criticism of him, on the grounds of the beauty or otherwise of his mother and the quality of the gene pool he inherited, bordered on the scurrilous. It was what one might expect from a tabloid rather than a quality broadsheet.
