Sir: Angela Lambert, in her article 'Barmy bleating about sheep' (17 August), refers to the British habit of glaring at children who are taken to restaurants, while lavishing affection on pet dogs in the same place.
Could this have anything to do with the fact that most people seem to be able to train their dogs to behave in a much better way than they can their children?
Yours,
