Sir: As a Scot who lives in England and who believes in the Union, I would like to ask Mr Blair: "Why are the English and Northern Irish not being consulted over devolution?"

We live in the United Kingdom, created by the Act of Union 1707 and the English, Northern Irish, Scots and the Welsh must be consulted as equal partners.

The Rev PAUL WILLIAMSON,

Hanworth, Middlesex
