Letter: Blair is still way off target

NATO REPEATEDLY tells us collateral damage is regrettable but inevitable. It certainly is inevitable when you bomb towns. It is hard to escape the conclusion that Nato's desperadoes are actively seeking a bit of collateral help. The more Serb civilians regrettably killed and maimed, the greater the internal pressure on Milosevic.

Nato is deliberately ravaging Serbia. There are many culpable aspects to this but the most villainous of all is the targeting of civilians. An estimated 1,000 innocent Serbs have died and 5,000 been wounded already. This is the indifferently disguised terror bombing of civilians; it is a war crime and it will cast a very long shadow over Nato, its leadership and the eventual solution of the Kosovo crisis.
