He ignored the final, positively the last "no more chances", "we won't tell you again" warnings - and that's how we got into this bloody mess. Now Blair and Clinton are about to repeat their blunder by threatening a ground invasion ("Changing the ground rules," 23 May). Milosevic has even less to lose by calling their latest bluff - in which case we will be into the scenario of British troops getting accidentally bombed by US war planes, if their current accuracy record is anything to go by.
