I HAVE just read 'A day in the life of an angel' (6 September). Thank you for highlighting the hard work and dedication that goes into being a professional nurse.

I winced, however, when I read the tabloid-style word 'angel' used to describe a nurse. Nursing and nurses have been trying to shake off this 'angelic' image for years. Your headline has done nothing for nursing's image, and I am very disappointed with your newspaper.
