It is no unfamiliar sight on a British day averaging above 20 degrees – men and women of all shapes and sizes shedding their clothes and taking to public places.
The larger, older, severely sunburnt gentleman is a particular staple of any high street when warmer weather hits.
But as the longest heatwave for seven years continues to prompt equal measures of dismay and delight among the population, one branch of Tesco in Newquay, Cornwall, has put up a sign asking that customers keep on tops and shoes which shopping in the beachside supermarket.
So where is it acceptable to go with your top off?
