A mischievous squirrel was caught on camera stealing a doughnut from a police officer in Anchorage, Alaska.
The video, posted on Anchorage Police Department’s Facebook page, shows the squirrel running through the department's car park with a doughnut firmly clamped in its mouth.
"Seriously. He stole a perfectly good donut. FROM A COP. That's a straight-up felony. Also... it's rude.", the Facebook post stated.
The short video of the daring heist has gone viral, with over 120,000 views on Facebook at the time of writing.
"I think you need a Squirrel Crime Division. I can head it up if necessary," one person said about the video, while another condemned the squirrel's actions, saying it was: "Trespassing, resisting arrest," and "generally acting squirrely."
The police force were happy to throw in some more levity in the comments section of the video, responding to one person lamenting the loss of the doughnut: "We are aware we are never getting that donut back. It was just too delicious."
It is unknown if the squirrel is still at large or if it will steal again.
