Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, is due to hold a press briefing on Friday as rescue efforts continue following the collapse of an apartment building in Miami.

President Joe Biden said earlier this week that it will still be possible to find survivors in the rubble after meeting families of people who have died or are still missing.

Eighteen bodies have been recovered so far, but 145 people are still unaccounted for after last week's disaster in Florida.
