SpaceX launches rescue mission to bring home astronauts stranded since June

SpaceX has launched its mission to rescue two stranded astronauts from the International Space Stations, after problems with their Boeing Starliner meant they couldn’t come back to Earth when they expected to.

Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who have been in space since June, will be travelling back on SpaceX’s Dragon in February.

In the meantime, Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov are flying out to the station on the same rocket to deliver supplies.

The launch was initially supposed to be Thursday, however, Hurricane Helene caused delays of a few days.
