Paris Paralympics: Patrouille de France performs stunning sunset flypast at opening ceremony
Paris Paralympic athletes were treated to a display from the Patrouille de France (French Acrobatic Patrol) against the backdrop of a stunning sunset in the French capital on Wednesday, 28 August.
The aerobatics demonstration unit of the French Air and Space Force produced smoke in the colours of the French flag over the Champs-Élysées.
Like the Olympic opening ceremony, the Paralympic ceremony took place in the city's streets rather than a stadium like previous Games.
Up to 4,400 athletes will parade down Avenue des Champs-Élysées to arrive at Place de la Concorde in front of an estimated 65,000 spectators.
