British and Japanese Olympic gold medallists dance together in celebration under Eiffel Tower

Two Olympic medallists danced together under the Eiffel Tower in Paris in a scene that has been hailed as showing the spirit of the Games.

Team GB rower Hannah Scott and Japanese gymnast Takaaki Sugino shared the moment in Champions Park, a location dedicated for athletes and fans to celebrate achievements against the backdrop of the iconic structure.

The pair had both secured gold medals in the gymnastics men's team final and women’s quadruple sculls respectively.

"Togetherness as its best," one social media user remarked on the dance.
