Ten Hag calls for Man United to show more ‘desire’ and ‘passion’ after Newcastle defeat
Erik ten Hag admitted that Newcastle had more desire than Manchester United after his side’s 2-0 defeat at St James’ Park.
Second-half goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson sunk United as the Premier League returned after an international break, with Ten Hag admitting his side needed to show more “desire” and “passion”.
“You can’t win games without [desire],” he said at full-time.
“I was surprised we couldn’t match the determination and the passion on the side of the opponent.”
