‘Am I in a fairytale?’: Sarina Wiegman reacts after leading England to World Cup final
England manager Sarina Wiegman questioned if she was living in a “fairytale” after leading the Lionesses to the World Cup final.
The Dutch coach has now taken two different nations to the final of football’s biggest tournament, but has insisted she will not “take anything for granted”.
“As a coach or a player, if you make it to finals it is really, really special,” Wiegman said.
“We’ve made it too far already, I never take anything for granted, but I’m like ‘Am I in a little fairytale or something?’”
England face Spain in the World Cup final after beating Australia 3-1.
