Arteta apologises to fans as Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge fades away
A frustrated Mikel Arteta apologised to the Arsenal supporters after a crushing 3-0 loss at home to Brighton all but ended their Premier League title hopes.
The result leaves them four points behind Manchester City at the top, who also have a game in hand.
“A really different feeling to the feeling we all had last Sunday when we felt proud and we felt we really did what it takes to win,” Arteta said at full-time, referencing last week’s win against Newcastle.
“Today is completely the opposite, today we have to apologise to our people.”
