CCTV captures former police officer driving car through ex-girlfriend’s office window

A former police officer attempted to kill his ex-girlfriend by deliberately driving a car through her office window, shocking CCTV footage from 2022 shows.

William McBurnie, 57, was almost three times the legal limit when he deliberately mounted the pavement and smashed through the glass window of the funeral directors in Jedburgh where his former partner Zoe Turnbull, 46, worked.

She and her mother Beverley, 71, survived by pinning themselves against the walls.

McBurnie, from Northern Ireland, pleaded guilty to attempted murder at the High Court in Livingston on Monday, 9 September.
