Wes Streeting vows to increase NHS appointments available for patients
Wes Streeting has vowed that waiting times for NHS appointments will be decreased under a Labour Government.
The shadow health secretary pledged that extra appointments will be made available through the use of weekend and evening clinics, while speaking on BBC Breakfast on Monday, 18 December.
“One way I’m gonna try to put more money back into NHS staff pockets is by delivering two million more appointments in the NHS a year through evening and weekend clinics,” Mr Streeting said.
“It’s an approach that’s been proven to work in a small number of hospitals but we need it to work in communities right across the country, and we will pay for that, £1.1 billion going directly into the pockets of NHS staff,” he added.
