Texas Democrat smokes blunt in pro-legislation ad

A Democrat running for the Texas House of Representatives released a pro-cannabis campaign ad this week that features her smoking a blunt.

The attention-grabbing ad is called “It’s HIGH Time for Change in Texas” and shows Sally Duval criticising the state’s “confusing and unclear” policies on the drug.

She is seen smoking cannabis at the start of the clip, which ends with her hitting a bong and coughing afterwards.

“We don’t have to choose between safety and legalisation, we can and should have both,” Ms Duval says.

“Here’s the bottom line, Texans should have the freedom to consume these products if they want to.”
