Texas sky turns blood red as dust storm creates eerie scene
A dust storm created an apocalyptic scene as the sky turned red in Plainview, Texas, in footage posted to Twitter on Sunday (26 February).
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a blowing dust warning until 2am on Monday as visibility significantly diminished in Lubbock and Plainview to half a mile and a quarter of a mile respectively.
“High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles... Persons with respiratory problems should make preparations to stay indoors until the storm passes,” the NWS said.
