White House press secretary Jen Psaki is holding a briefing with the news media.

Psaki recently criticised Texas Gov Greg Abbott and other GOP leaders who have opposed the president’s executive order instituting Covid vaccination mandates for many businesses and others.

The press secretary also recalled Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s much-mocked February trip to Cancun while defending the White House’s vaccine mandates.

President Joe Biden also is set to hold his first bilateral talks as president with an African leader on Thursday.
