Watch live as State Department spokesman faces questions on Afghanistan

State Department spokesperson Ned Price faces questions from the press over the handling of the US withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, and subsequent quick takeover by the Taliban of the country.

Price is likely to field questions on how the militant group were able to take possession of around 2,000 US-made armoured vehicles and 40 aircraft after the US forces left.

US President Biden has so far been defensive of his government’s handling of the situation, saying: "The idea that somehow there’s a way to have gotten out without chaos ensuing, I don’t know how that happens."
