Tories need to ‘unite,’ minister says as Priti Patel accuses Sunak of party’s ‘managed decline’
The Conservative Party needs to "unite," a government minister has said following Priti Patel's criticism of the party's leadership.
The former home secretary is expected to blame "those in power and control" for the party's extensive losses in the local elections when she makes a speech at the Conservative Democratic Organisation on Saturday (13 May.)
"Errors and mistakes made by a minority in Westminster have cost [the] party dearly," Ms Patel will say.
Speaking ahead of the Eurovision final in Liverpool, culture minister Stuart Andrew said his party needed to "unite" and "work together."
