The pop star on Tuesday night (10 September) endorsed Democrat Kamala Harris for president, saying she is a “steady-handed, gifted leader”.

Swift, 34, shared the news in a message on Instagram following the debate between Ms Harris and Republican rival Donald Trump in Philadelphia.

She signed her post “Childless Cat Lady” in reference to comments made by Mr Trump’s running mate JD Vance in 2021 but which resurfaced recently.

Ms Harris’s running mate - Mr Walz - was also heavily mentioned in the endorsement he found out about it shortly after it was made.

He was on live TV when he heard the news.
