Rotherham man returns to home devastated by Storm Babet: ‘It’s like Armageddon’
A Rotherham man said his home resembled “Armageddon” after his property was devastated by Storm Babet.
Around 1,250 homes in the Catcliffe area have been flooded following torrential rain in South Yorkshire, with hundreds left homeless.
David Pickering returned to his home for the first time following Storm Babet.
“Jesus, I just don’t know where to begin, because it’s like Armageddon,” he said.
“There will be people laughing and thinking ‘Oh it’s a joke’, this is not a joke. This is eight months of my life and my family’s life. It’s going to affect us for a bit.”
