Scotland will be an independent country in three years time under my leadership, says Ash Regan
Ash Regan has vowed that Scotland will be an independent country within three years if she is elected Scottish National Party (SNP) leader and First Minister.
During a Sky News debate, the MSP for Edinburgh Eastern set out her ambitions for taking Scotland out of the United Kingdom, a key issue in the race to replace Nicola Sturgeon.
The ex-minister is competing against health secretary Humza Yousaf and finance secretary Kate Forbes.
Voting has now opened for members of the SNP to choose the next leader.
