TV editor gives statement following on-air arrest: ‘I allowed zombification of Russian people’

A Russian TV editor who protested against Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine has released a statement, stating she is ashamed to have “allowed the zombification of Russian people”.

Marina Ovsyannikova has been praised by many after she interrupted a newsreader on the Kremlin-controlled Channel 1.

She walked on the live broadcast and told viewers “They’re lying to you here”.
