Angry Rudy Giuliani leaves court after being ordered to pay $148 million to election workers he defamed
Rudy Giuliani was unrepentant as he left court after being ordered to pay $148 million to election workers he defamed.
After a four-day defamation trial and a day of deliberation, jurors unanimously agreed that the former New York mayor should pay almost $150 million to plaintiffs.
Mr Giuliani was visibly angry outside the courthouse as he claimed he wasn’t allowed to present any evidence, saying: “Did you see what she (Judge Beryl Howell) just did? She didn’t allow me to present a stitch of evidence.”
He also called the decision absurd and insisted that he would appeal.
Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss were the plaintiffs in question, whom Mr Giulian made defamatory statements about following the 2020 election.
