Rowers cling to bottom of boat after it capsizes in North Sea
Two rowers were left clinging to the bottom of their boat after it capsized in the North Sea.
Footage captures the moment the pair were rescued after getting into difficulty in freezing conditions off the coast of Whitby in North Yorkshire on Saturday (16 December).
The experienced pair had originally headed out in calm conditions, before facing a strong cross-shore wind as they left the pier’s end. Their boat overturned as they tried to head back to the harbour.
Body-worn footage reveals how the crew managed to quickly pinpoint them after they were dragged one mile out into the North Sea’s dangerous waters.
