UK river littered with plastic and sewage in shocking footage
Footage shows a shocking amount of sewage and plastic waste - including vapes - in a UK river.
Elliot Barr filmed a walk along the River Calder in Ossett and Wakefield city centre and on the Horbury Weir, discovering litter strewn along the banks of the water.
The 30-year-old fuel safety officer and volunteer environmental activist said: “Disposable E-cigarettes are a menace... I have even seen electric scooters being thrown into the rivers.”
Barr posts his findings on social media to highlight the scale of the litter problem facing the country’s waterways.
“Simply putting waste in the correct bin prevents it from entering nature,” he added.
