Rishi Sunak tells father-of-four facing £2,800 mortgage payments to ‘talk to your bank’
Rishi Sunak told a father-of-four who said he will be facing £2,800 monthly mortgage payments to “talk to your bank.”
The prime minister spoke to the LBC listener on Wednesday, 2 August, as he took part in a phone-in.
Homeowner Jack told Mr Sunak he feels like he is being “unfairly punished” with a rise from £1,500 to £2,800 a month in repayments on his property.
“In the short term... you should talk to your bank,” Mr Sunak said.
“You could extend the term of your mortgage... or you could switch to an interest-only mortgage,” he added.
