Barrister scales tree in protest against felling to make way for dual carriageway
A barrister climbed a tree in protest at it potentially being felled to make way for a dual carriageway.
Paul Powlesland, who is also a nature rights activist, scaled a lime tree in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, that is due to be removed.
Campaigners protesting against the felling say the lime trees on The Walks have been there for around 80 years, with at least one dating back to 1847.
Footage filmed by Mr Powesland shows police establishing a cordon around the tree he was sitting in.
