Princess Eugenie praises Boohoo for being a ‘leader’ in tackling modern-day slavery despite 2020 scandal
Princess Eugenie has praised national fashion chain Boohoo for now being a “leader” in tackling modern-day slavery, despite the company’s 2020 scandal.
The online fashion giant was found to have paid workers in Leicester making clothes linked to the company for as little as £3.50 an hour.
In her Anti-Slavery Collective’s Floodlight podcast, where she interviewed former prime minister Theresa May, she said: “We spoke to Boohoo and, our mission at the end is not to point fingers, but is to actually say ‘gosh’ you have done something about this now.
“Well done for discovering it and the irony is they are probably a leader now rather than someone that made a big mistake.”
