Prince Harry’s lawyer accuses Mirror publisher of ‘vendetta journalism’ as he condemns phone hacking cover-ups
The Duke of Sussex has been awarded £140,600 after bringing a phone hacking claim against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), with the publisher’s actions described as a “systemic practice of unlawful and appalling behaviour”.
Speaking outside the High Court in London on Friday 15 December, lawyer David Sherborne shared a statement on behalf of Prince Harry.
“This case is not just about hacking. It is about a systemic practice of unlawful and appalling behaviour, followed by cover-ups and destruction of evidence,” Mr Sherborne said.
A High Court judge ruled there had been “extensive” phone hacking at MGN titles between 2006 and 2011, including during the Leveson Inquiry.
