‘Pick that up and put it back down’: Ringing phone interrupts BBC News interview
A BBC News interview was abruptly interrupted by a guest’s phone ringing as she spoke on live TV.
While speaking on the government’s announcement about folic acid being added to flour to help prevent birth defects, the guest’s phone begins to ring in the background.
“Pick that up and put it back down again to stop it ringing,” the presenter says, before joking about who would call to interrupt the interview.
“Somebody has probably seen you on the TV and is ringing to tell you, that’s what usually happens.”
