Watch: New York underwater amid flash flood warning
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a State of Emergency as flash flooding hits New York City.
As torrential rain pummels the northeastern US, parts of New York are completely underwater. Brooklyn is particularly affected.
New Yorkers took to social media to share footage of streets turned rushing rivers and flooding subway stations.
Emergency alerts were sent to cellphones in the city at 9.30am local time from the National Weather Service and a travel advisory has been issued.
