Dr Philip Kelly, a consultant general physician, and says that pressures have increased over the last few years.
In an update during his shift, he reveals how half of his patients - some on drips and infusions - are being seen in chairs.
"It's funny how we become ever so slightly sadly desensitised to it," Dr Kelly says.
