Moment Olympic sprinter Ricardo Dos Santos pleads ‘what did I do?’ as police scream ‘get out the car’
This is the moment Olympic sprinter Ricardo Dos Santos pleads “What did I do?” as police officers surround him and shout “get out of the car” in front of his baby son.
Body-worn camera footage from the encounter on 4 July 2020, released by the IOPC, shows five Metropolitan Police officers surround Mr Dos Santos’ Mercedes near his home while his partner and Team GB athlete Bianca Williams and their baby sit in the vehicle.
One can be seen raising his police-issued baton above his shoulder and shouting at Mr Dos Santos to “get out” while a female officer frantically screams “there’s a baby in the car”.
The footage was shown at a disciplinary hearing in southeast London on Wednesday and has now been released by the IOPC.
The five officers all face allegations that they breached police standards over equality and diversity during the stop-and-search.
The hearing continues.
