Captain of boat that rescued Bayesian survivors details mega-yacht sinking ‘within two minutes’

The captain of a boat who helped rescue survivors from the Bayesian superyacht has recalled how the boat sank "in just two minutes" off the coast of Sicily on Monday, 19 August.

The vessel sank in a severe storm, with the bodies of five people recovered from the wreckage.

Tech tycoon Mike Lynch has been identified as one of the bodies recovered, along with Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judith Bloomer, lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo.

The boat’s chef Recaldo Thomas was confirmed dead on Monday,

"We couldn't see them anymore, they disappeared from the radar," captain Karsten Borner told Sky News of the moment the boat sank.
