Melbourne earthquake: Buildings damaged after 5.9-magnitude tremor
In the above video, you can see some of the damage caused by a 5.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Melbourne on Wednesday (22 September).
The epicentre of the quake was some 200 kilometres northeast of Melbourne near the town of Mansfield, and at a depth of 10km.
There have been no serious injuries or fatalities reported from the tremor thus far – although a hospital in Victoria did lose power when the quake struck.
Australia PM Scott Morrison said: “They [earthquakes] are very rare events in Australia and as a result, I am sure people would have been quite distressed and disturbed.”
