Arsonists set themselves on fire as they try to burn down corner shop with petrol
Arsonists set themselves on fire as they tried to burn down a corner shop in Manchester on Sunday, 26 August.
A hooded trio covered their faces before pouring petrol on the floor of Zafs Go Local in Butler Street before setting it alight, while one individual appeared to film the incident on their phone.
CCTV captured two of them setting themselves alight before fleeing the scene.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for information after launching an investigation into the arson attack.
“We don’t know if it’s personal. We’re a big part of the community... We don’t know what could have caused it,” shop owner Zaf Iqbal, 39, said.
