Moment man pulls ‘gun’ on police officers as he wanders along busy M1
This is the moment a man pulled out a “gun” and pointed it at police officers as he walked along the verge of a busy M1 motorway in South Yorkshire.
Officers stopped to help Steven Trevor Nelson, 35, at around 9am on 23 March.
Within seconds, Nelson pulled out what was believed to be a viable firearm, pointing it at the officer. The officer withdrew to his car and called for armed colleagues to assist.
Nelson was arrested and taken into custody.
He pleaded guilty to charges of possession of an imitation firearm to cause fear of violence and assault on an emergency worker.
He was sentenced to 14 months in prison.
