Smoke fills air near central London tube station as firefighters battle blaze in city
Around 1200 people have been evacuated following a blaze at an office block near Moorgate tube station.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters responded to the fire in Moorfields at around 11.22 am on Thursday.
A large amount of thick smoke can be seen high in the sky following the fire at a disused office block. The fire is believed to have started in the plant room on the 10th floor.
The fires service confirmed it received 40 calls from concerned members of the public.
No one is believed to have been injured.
