Liberal Democrats smash through ‘blue wall’ of hay in local election campaign launch
The Liberal Democrats launched their local election campaign by driving a tractor through a “blue wall” of hay bales.
Wednesday’s (29 March) pre-election stunt was conducted in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.
Party leader Sir Ed Davey, who was a passenger in the vehicle, joked that the Lib Dems would “need some heavy machinery to clear up the mess of the Conservatives.”
The party is targeting Tory voters who Sir Ed claims have been let down by the government ahead of May’s council contests in England.
