Lagos: Emergency services search rubble after 21-storey building collapses
Emergency services are searching rubble after an under-construction multi-storey building collapsed in Lagos on Monday.
Authorities said at least six people have died in Nigeria’s economic hub. According to witnesses a further 100 are feared trapped inside at the construction site, located on Gerald Road in the city’s Ikoyi neighbourhood.
In a statement Lagos state government said it had started a probe in the cause of the collapse, with officials on the ground assessing any possible damage to surrounding buildings.
